Yeo Bee Yin is the State Assemblywoman for Damansara Utama from Democratic Action Party (DAP). She contested the first time in the 13th General Election and won with 83.6% of the votes and 30,689 majority (highest majority for state seats in Malaysia). 

Bee Yin grew up in a small town called Batu Anam in Segamat, Johor.  She received primary and secondary education in SRJK (C) Hwa Nan and SMJK Seg Hwa respectively. After that, she studied Chemical Engineering in Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP) under Petronas Scholarship and graduated with First Class Honour. She then worked for Schlumberger as a field engineer. After 2 years, she went on to pursue MPhil in Advanced Chemical Engineering in Cambridge University under Gates Cambridge Scholarship and completed it with a Commendation. 

She is currently the Vice Chairwoman of Pakatan Harapan Youths and a member of DAP Central Executive Committee as the National Assistant Publicity Secretary. She is also the Social Media Strategist for the DAP since 2013. At the state level, she is the state committee member of DAP Selangor and Political Education Director of DAP Selangor Women's Wing. She is also actively involved in DAP's Impian Malaysia movement as one of the first pioneers in the first Impian Sarawak project at Kg Sait, Sarawak. 

To help the underprivileged community in her constituency, her office runs 2 free tuition centers -- located in Damansara Bistari and Kampung Chempaka, for students age 7 to 17 from low-income families; as well as foodbank program to give monthly basic necessities assistance to more than 100 hardcore poor. 

In addition, she believes strongly in the role of young generation in nation building. She's actively involved in developing Malaysian youths. Thousands of Malaysian youths benefitted from the many youth development programs her team organized since 2013. She also takes interns regularly to help university students to better understand real politics in Malaysia. She's been invited to speak to many youths at different parts of Malaysia.
